As announced some time ago we have been working on a new core (Protomol core B4), and it has been looking good in QA so we have started to release Promol core WUs more broadly. We have a preliminary Protomol...

Got one of these new cores today.
PPD seems a little lower than usual, I expected the opposite as these units are apparently able to take advantage of not just SSE2, but SSE3, 4.1 and 4.2. They';re also very small, my current one is worth just 85 points.
Side note - if you're using Fahmon (or any other monitoring app for that matter) it will NOT monitor your PPD without a change, as these are classed as beta units.
To fix this, I'll give credit to the place where I read it rather than copy/paste - take a look here http://hardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1480163
I've done this with Fahmon, and it shows my PPD for one of these new units as ~360, versus ~475 for a "normal" 905 point CPU unit.

Thanks for that info, Calum. I just updated my FahMon "Preferences/Advanced" with the new URL, so, hopefully, all the download info will be correct when I get one of those units. I haven't really been keeping an eye on my folding. Good thing I checked, though...it would seem my GPU unit was "Hung" and I had to reboot to fix it. No worries, though...
Again...thanks for the update...and Merry Christmas!
