CDRID is a CD-R identification program that can be used to determine some low-level information about CD-R media, such as the actual Manufacturer, the recording layer info, capacity, and recording speeds. This can be useful when trying to diagnose a finicky drive, such as a drive that by all appearances seems to randomly failed burns. examining the failed burned discs can help reveal corresponding attributes that the drive may simply not like (usually specific dye types,or manufacturers).
