I've had Vista for a while, but I had it set to "windows classic", which is what I had XP set to for the first few months I had it, as well.

What finally tipped the barrel? I wanted to see the "Dreamscene content", and it wanted Aero enabled. So I figured- alright, I'll switch to check these out.

I had process explorer running in the background while I was testing the dreamscene backgrounds (VERY COOL by the way!)- and dwm wasn't even breaking 2-3% CPU, even though I had several windows on top of the animated background with aero glass...

needless to say, I no longer had a reason to not use it.

As much as people like to complain about microsoft- getting rich animated backgrounds and aero glass using only 2% CPU is definitely not bloated code...

Strangely, this is errily similar to my switch to the windows XP Luna themes, the original aversion to them was because of RAM usage, but after upgrading RAM I no longer had a reason not to at least *try*.

Even if Aero glass consumed a lot of RAM, I have 4GB in the laptop so no problems there.

It's only in the ultimate edition, but it is SUPER cool

basically, it animates the background wallpaper.
